Sörbranten contains 16 single family houses on a steep hillside. The houses, of three levels, spring off the lingering road into the landscape, respecting natural elements and taking advantage of topography and directions. Depending on the inclination of the site, entrances are placed alternately on middle or lowest level and reached by a small bridge, thus resulting in two main types and a few varieties. To minimize the footprint on the ground, the houses are built on thin slabs. Materials are kept simple and chosen to diminish maintenance.
