Skravelberget roof top office

Rooftop extension of a 1960’s building in central Stockholm. Without Adding any new facade above the existing facades including the original penthouse level, and with a Suitable rational approach, a steepening of the roof to a 45 degree angle generated 500 sqm of additional office space, within the current site regulation. The roof is cut by a sharp slit, opening the offices to a roof terrace. Apart from this Act, the roof is kept an untouched, continuous surface. The project challenges the current principle for rooftop extensions in Stockholm – the principle of successive setbacks.
