Jensen & Skodvin Architects was established in 1995 by Jan Olav Jensen and Børre Skodvin. Torstein Koch joined the office in 1996, became a partner in 2011 and has been working on most projects for Jensen & Skodvin.
The main objective of Jensen & Skodvin Architects is to realize ideas in the form of built work while contributing to the development of the tectonic culture of their profession. The first project the office took on in 1995 was the trial project for the National Tourist Road across Sognefjellet and Strynefjell in the Norwegian Mountains. These first projects, and most of all Liasanden lay-by along the Sognefjell road, have influenced most of Jensen & Skodvins later projects in one way or another, even thou they appear to be very different.
