The town expects to grow considerably in the near future. The area of the competition, a large wedge of unused forested land, actually cuts through the existing town structure, ending close to the very centre of the old town. The competition therefore is a good opportunity to study different realistic urban strategies on a general level.
The position of this site raises a number of obvious questions that should be discussed. The jury is of the opinion, however, that the results of the competition seen as whole has no really convincing conclusions, and that further study should be undertaken before the important urban decisions giving direction to the future development of the site are taken.
