Old discussion forum

This forum has been opened for the participants and others to discuss the competition and its result, this being a part of the policy of openness and discussion of the competition. The jury follows with interest the discussions, but it is not possible for the jury to answer every question or statement. Even so there are some issues that it wants to address.

The jury is very grateful to all the architects and their efforts in this competition and it is with utmost respect that the jury has assessed all the entries. All the conclusions in the jury's report are based on a thorough analysis of all the proposals, with the aim to find a concept for the architectonic design and principle functions.

The competitors should be reminded of the conditions of the assessment and selections of finalists that are explained on page 35 of the competition brief. Among other things it says:

“The jury’s assessment of the proposals in stage one will result in a presentation of the advantages and disadvantages of the presented principles for location and design and the selection of at most five entries which, according to the jury, provide the best possible pre-conditions for further development.”

This stage of the competition is focused on finding good concepts and ideas to be developed in the future process. The jury believes that all the finalist’s ideas and concepts can be developed to meet the basic criteria in the competition brief.

It has also come to the jury's attention that someone claims to have revealed the authors of some of the finalists in the competition. It is not unexpected that speculations and rumours on the authorship of the finalists will be circulated.

The jury can not verify if the informant's information is correct - nor will the jury check it. The authors' names can only with any certainty be controlled by the information in the sealed envelopes sent with the entries that are not at the jury’s disposal until after the second stage of the competition.

Anyone who circulates such information and/or rumours is jeopardising the competition and disrespect the work of the participating architects. The jury would appreciate if the anonymity of the architects and their work was respected.

Please continue to discuss the competition in this website, but respect the rules of the site:

Contributions are reviewed before publishing. Contributions on other issues than this competition will not be published. The same applies to contributions that are insulting to individuals or inappropriate in any other way.

The language of the forum is English only.

On behalf of the jury
